When is Jaya Ekadashi - According to the Hindu calendar, Jaya Ekadashi happens every year on the bright side of the month of Magh, and according to the Gregorian calendar it falls in the month of January or February every year. This time Jaya Ekadashi will be celebrated on 5 February 2020.

Importance of Jaya Ekadashi - In Hinduism, Jaya Ekadashi which comes in Magh Shukla has special significance. It is believed that by observing this fast, a person gets salvation by freeing himself from the sins of the Brahman. Not only this, due to its effect, ghosts, vampires etc. are also freed from vagrants. It is believed that by observing a fast on this day and worshiping Shri Hari Vishnu, one gets rid of bad Yoni. It is said that the man who has fasted on this Ekadashi, as if he had done all yagna, chanting, donation etc. According to the ancient beliefs, a person who observes Jaya Ekadashi fasts in such a way that he stays in heaven for a thousand years.
