Raipur: Sant Kalicharan Maharaj, who made controversial remarks on Mahatma Gandhi, has finally been arrested. Earlier he was said to be absconding. Now according to the news received, Sant Kalicharan has been arrested by Raipur Police from Khajuraho. He has been arrested by Raipur Police. Now action is being taken to bring the criminal Kalicharan to Raipur.

For making indecent statements on Mahatma Gandhi, a case was registered against Kalicharan Maharaj in many parts of the country including Raipur. It was only last evening that news came that Kalicharan Maharaj had fled from Raipur. After which the Raipur Police started their search in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Raipur SP Prashant Agarwal said that Kalicharan Maharaj was living in a rented house in Bageshwar Dham, 25 km from Khajuraho. Police has arrested him at 4 am today. The police will take them to Raipur by evening.

In Raipur, a case was registered against Kalicharan Maharaj under section 505(2) and section 294. The former mayor of Raipur and the current chairman Pramod Dubey had lodged an FIR against him. In the Parliament of Religions held in Raipur, Kalicharan Maharaj had spoken abusive words about Mahatma Gandhi. “The goal of Islam is to capture the nation through politics. Before our eyes they captured it in 1947... They had previously occupied Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. He occupied Bangladesh and Pakistan through politics... I bow to Nathuram Godse that he killed him...'
