Kangra: In his first appearance in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, saying they did not leave any stone unturned in looting the state that has been blessed with abundant resources.
Kejriwal said that the opposition was targeting him, claiming that Congress ruled the mountain state for 30 years while the BJP dominated the hilly state for 17 years. "Both of these parties robbed Himachal Pradesh and are now condemning me," he said.
The AAP national convenor said that BJP national president JP Nadda and Union Minister Anurag Thakur made personal attacks on him in their remarks, implying that they were aware of the AAP's poll challenge in the state.
"The Delhi model is not acceptable in the state," Kejriwal stated, referring to Chief Minister Jairam Thakur's statement that "the Delhi model is not acceptable in the state." In response to Thakur's assertion that "societal and political situations are different here," Kejriwal attacked the state's ruling BJP, saying, "It is not an issue of circumstances, but your intentions are bad."
Kejriwal used the "Dehli model" as an example, inviting the Chief Minister to observe government schools in the national capital. "It's time for Himachal Pradesh to become 'Naya Himachal Pradesh.' I strongly encourage all good people in the BJP and Congress to defect to the AAP. I implore the people of this state to support AAP "said Kejriwal. He further stated that the BJP will call early Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.
