Bangalore: A shocking incident has come to light from Koppal in A Rantak where a Dalit family has been fined Rs 35,000 for entering the temple. The entire case has come to light from Miyapura village in Koppal. Earlier this month, the 4-year-old son of a Dalit man went to the temple to seek God's blessings on his birthday, which created a ruckus over it.

However, Tehsildar Siddhesh said the village elders later apologised saying it was due to a misunderstanding. But still, the Dalit family was fined Rs 35,000. Out of which Rs. 25,000 was fine cash and the remaining Rs. 10,000 was asked to be paid for cleaning the temple. Police said Dalits belonging to the Channadasar community did not want to register any case in the case as they said the move would disturb relations with people in the village.

Tell you that the child's family had turned to the temple on September 4 to worship on his birthday. A young man from the village said, 'The boy walked towards the temple while his father was praying.' After the incident, upper-caste people convened a meeting on September 11 and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Dalits for performing havan for the purpose of purifying the temple. Members of the Channadasar community then approached the police and demanded action against the fine-takers. Police officials warned upper caste people to accuse the parents of a Dalit child and said legal action would be initiated against them if they do so again.
