Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party  (BJP) General Secretary CT Ravi attacked Congress on Sunday for rejecting a bill that would decentralise control of temples.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai declared last week in Haveri that the state government is intending to introduce a measure to release temples from government control.

Ravi, speaking at a press conference on Sunday, stated, "There is only one family that Congress believes in. That is why they oppose Article 370 repeal, anti-cow slaughter legislation, the Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill, and a proposed law against Love Jihad, among other things." "The interests of the people in the majority are never respected by Congress. They consistently go against the wishes of the majority "he stated

"Even after several years, Congress is opposing a measure that tries to free temples from state authority and supporting the British ideology that they imposed on the temples to take the temples' money and properties," Ravi added. CT Ravi further slammed the State Congress President, saying that instead of supporting the law, DK Shivakumar is busy opposing everything related to temples. "The state government does not need to be funded by temple revenues. DK Shivakumar must realise that the government does not own the income from temples. It is the people's and temples' property "he stated.
