Bangalore: The Karnataka government on Saturday suspended a medical officer and an ambulance driver at Kodigenahalli Primary Health Centre in Tumakuru district. In fact, he has been accused of the death of a 5-year-old boy due to alleged medical negligence. The incident took place around 130 km from the state capital Bengaluru. The child's parents had complained that when they took their child to the health center for treatment, the doctor and ambulance driver was not present on that time. Angry people and the opposition demanded the resignation of the state health minister on this issue.

According to Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar, the child was brought "dead" to the hospital. The health commissioner has sent a notice to Tumakuru district following the tragic death of a 5-year-old boy who was declared dead at Kodigenahalli PHC in Madhugiri taluk. The health and family welfare department as well as a medical officer and ambulance driver have been suspended. After the matter came to light, politics also heated up and the JDS took this incident hand-in-hand. Former CM and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy had sought the resignation of the state health minister after receiving information about the incident. The child's body was brought to former CM HD Kumaraswamy's Pancharatna Yatra, which took place at Kodigenahalli village on Friday. The family is constantly pleading for justice.

In a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy targeted the ruling BJP government and said hospitals in the state have "turned into a death trap". There were two doctors in the hospital, but they were not on duty. Although there was an ambulance, there was no driver. This is a cruel approach to the health system in rural areas. This is a mirror of the incompetence of the health department.
