Karnataka police have put six boys into prison for gang rape of a 17-year-old girl after blackmailing her into making her private video viral in Dharwad district.

According to preliminary investigations, the defendants gang-raped the girl for over three months. On Sunday, the girl's parents filed a complaint with the Shahar police station in Dharwad in this regard. The guys were taken into custody and taken to a detention facility, where they are being questioned.

The victim was in love with one of the accused kids, according to the authorities. The other boys videotaped her when she was having a private time with him. The accused then gang raped the victim and disseminated the film, which went viral among their contacts, after blackmailing her that they would make the video viral.

The victim stated in her statement that she was in love with a boy from the neighbourhood and that he had forced sex with her. Fearing that her film would go viral on social media, the girl kept quiet about her ordeal, which included blackmail and sexual abuse by a band of adolescents. The case is being investigated by the police.
