Kochi: The Nipah virus from Kerala has started to cause panic in Karnataka. Karnataka has also issued an advisory note on September 7 to prevent Nipah virus infection. It instructs the district administration to monitor those coming from Kerala with symptoms such as fever, changed mental condition, severe weakness, headache, respiratory problem, cough, vomiting, muscle pain, cramps, and diarrhea.

At the same time, they advise authorities to develop a systematic monitoring system to spread public awareness about this and identify groups of encephalitis cases to quickly detect Nipah's havoc. In fact, a 12-year-old boy died in Kozhikode, Kerala, after being infected with the Nipah virus. So far 251 people who have been exposed to the child have been identified, out of which 11 have been diagnosed with the infection.

An area of about 3 km has reportedly been sealed around the child's house. Contact tracing is being done, testing is being done. Nipah virus is not a new virus, but it has no medicine like a corona. Corona vaccine has been made, but the Nipah virus has no vaccine. In such a situation, there is more fear among the people about it.
