Karnataka: Notwithstanding the objections, the Karnataka Assembly passes four bills On February 21.

The Karnataka State Legislative Assembly passed four bills, including the Karnataka Civil Services (Validation of Selection and Appointment of 2011 batch Gazetted Probationers) Bill, 2022, despite protests by opposition Congress MPs.

The public services bill was passed to validate the Karnataka Public Service Commission's selection  (KPSC).of 362 gazetted 'probationers' from the 2011 KAS batch, Group A and B. The bill aims to undo the previous government's actions that were performed without the legal approval of the state assembly. 

The Criminal Law Amendment Ordinance, 1944 (Karnataka first Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Karnataka Stamp (second Amendment) Bill 2022, the Karnataka Stamp (Amendment) Bill, 2022; and were all enacted by the Assembly.
