Haveri: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch India Energy Week 2023 in Karnataka in February of next year, said Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. He said the meeting would draw about 10,000 attendees from India and beyond to discuss energy production and policies.
Bommai was speaking at the inauguration of 3,000 KLPD ethanol and sugar factory of a private company at Konanakeri village in Shiggaon Taluk of Haveri district, where he delivered the statement.
The Chief Minister was reported as adding that the Indian government chose Bengaluru since it has the highest R&D facilities to host this event.
The Government of India has determined to hold this event in Bangalore which has the most number of Research and Development centres, Bommai was quoted as saying.
He said the ethanol factories are in great demand and to set up them the government is giving the subsidy at 6% interest and 95% financial assistance.
"The next 50 years will see a huge increase in demand for biofuel. Maintaining a balance between these three components can lead to economic growth because the economy, environment, and energy are interwoven" the chief minister said.
