Amritsar: The Kartarpur corridor between India and Pakistan opened back on Wednesday after a long gap of 611 days. A group of 100 officers and 149 devotees are going to Kartarpur on the first day. A total of 100 officers to visit today include 50-50 officers from the Central Government and the Government of Punjab. The team of officers will cross the border after special permission and the team will return by evening. Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi will visit Kartarpur Sahib with his cabinet tomorrow.

Both doses of covid vaccine have been stipulated for the officers going today. At the same time, people have to follow the Covid Protocol. Common devotees will have to wait for 8 to 10 days for darshan from the Kartarpur corridor. 149 people have been allowed to visit Pakistan on Wednesday morning. These people had applied through the DC office. All these people have been allowed to leave this morning. These include Baba Sukhdeep Singh Bedi from the 17th generation of Guru Nanak Dev.

Registration for the Kartarpur Sahib corridor was stopped from March 16, 2020. Now, after a full 1 year and 8 months, the Ministry of Home Affairs of India has given the green signal to the decision to open the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor. On the one hand, Guruparva is coming and the decision of the Government of India has brought joy to the Sikh community.
