Will 'Imran' be like Nawaz Sharif? Strong possibility of coup in Pak

Islamabad: The first coup in India's neighbouring country, Pakistan, happened only a few years after independence. Now that could be the case once back in Pakistan. Pakistan's army seems to be disillusioned with PM Imran Khan. Now there are attempts to topple Imran Khan's government.

There are three major reasons for this:-

First, Imran Khan has been completely disgraced with Pakistan's army. Secondly, the Pak government has succumbed to hardcore Islamic organizations. Thirdly, inflation is skyrocketing in Pakistan. Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum has been made the new head of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. In Pakistan, ISI with the army takes most of the major decisions about the country. However, Imran Khan is not happy with the appointment of Nadeem Anjum as the head of the ISI. He is said to have taken three weeks to approve Nadeem Anjum's name.

Nadeem Anjum will replace former ISI chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, who is considered to be Imran Khan's most special. It was Faiz Hameed who played a key role in winning Imran Khan's party elections in 2018. Pakistan's Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is retiring next year, in 2022, and general elections are due next year, in Pakistan, in 2023. Imran Khan wanted Faiz Hameed to be made the new Army Chief and in return, Faiz Hameed would help him win the 2023 election. However, Pakistan's army was not ready for it and Imran Khan's plan failed.

Meanwhile, the Imran government also bowed to the radical outfit Taharike Lubbek Pakistan (TLP). This is the same organization that staged violent protests on the streets of Lahore against France a few months ago. In fact, French President Emmanuel Macron had termed and supported the cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed as freedom of expression. TLP had been demanding since then that the French ambassador from Pakistan be sent back and all trade relations with France be terminated.
