Brazil to administer Covid-19 Booster shots to all adults

BRASILIA: According to Brazilian Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga, all Brazilians above the age of 18 will be administered booster vaccinations against Covid-19. "We have decided to extend the booster shot to everyone over 18 years of age who received the second dose five months ago," said Queiroga, citing findings from scientific studies.

According to sources, only persons over the age of 60, those with a weaker immune system, and healthcare workers were eligible for booster shots prior to the announcement.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, more than 12.4 million Brazilians are eligible for a booster shot. Since the start of the pandemic in the country, the ministry has reported a total of 21,965,684 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 611,478 fatalities from the disease.

Covid-19 updates Globally:- Nations with a death toll of over 100,000 are Mexico (2,91,204), Russia (2,53,009), Peru (2,00,695), Indonesia (1,43,685), the UK (1,43,598), Italy (1,32,893),  Iran (1,28,406), Colombia (1,27,865),France (1,19,225) and Argentina (1,16,294). The other worst countries with over 5 million cases are the UK (96,86,363), Russia (96,86,363), Turkey (84,59,089), France (74,13,180), Iran (60,51,642), Argentina (53,08,781), Spain (50,61,045), Germany (51,44,827) and Colombia (50,36,287), the CSSE figures showed.
