Srinagar: Kashmiri Pandits have decided to boycott the Kheer Bhawani Mela to be held in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. This decision has been taken by the Kashmiri Pandits in protest against the increasing slaughter of Hindus in the Valley. Earlier, the Mata Kheer Bhawani Trust had appealed to all devotees, especially Kashmiri Pandits, to cancel the annual 'Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela'. According to the trust committee, the Yatra is scheduled to leave Nagrota on June 5 to attend the fair on June 7 at the Ragya Devi temple in Tulmullah village of Ganderbal district.

Kashmiri Pandits have a deep faith in the Kheer Bhawani Temple. Kashmiri Pandits, who migrated in 1990, have also been coming here in large numbers. The fair has been seen as the identity of Kashmiri Pandits. It is also called the main festival of Kashmiri Pandits. It has been a symbol of religious harmony and Kashmiriyat. Here every year a large number of devotees, mainly Kashmiri Pandits, attend the annual fair.

In fact, Kashmiri Pandits are preparing to migrate from the valley on a large scale due to the targeted killing of Hindus by Islamic terrorists. This trend has also begun. A man living in a transit camp at Mattan in Anantnag said more than 100 people had fled to Jammu on Thursday. This has also been confirmed by Sanjay Tikku, head of the Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti (KPSS).
