Fans would be disappointed to know that Katrina Kaif will not be paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming film ‘Zero’. According to a report in Filmfare, it is reported that Katrina Kaif will be seen romancing Abhay Deol in the film. This comes as a disappointment for fans expecting on-screen chemistry of Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Abhay Deol and Katrina Kaif will be coming together after 2011 Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara. However, this is the first time the two of the will play each other’s love interest on-screen. 

It is reported that Shah Rukh Khan plays a vertically challenged man in the film while Anushka Sharma essays the role of a struggling scientist.

Speaking about the characters of Katrina and Anushka, a source informed, “While everyone thinks that only Shah Rukh Khan has a special role in the film with a disability, they will be surprised to know that Anushka and Katrina's characters also face various challenges. While everyone knows Katrina plays a diva, nobody knows that she is also an alcoholic in the movie. She battles with alcoholism, which affects her life in various ways. Anushka, on the other hand, plays a struggling scientist. The makers are trying to keep these details a secret because they don't want to give out too much information.”

The film is slated to release on December 21.
