NEW DELHI:  Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, announced on Wednesday that the national capital would host "the biggest shopping festival in India" from January 28 to February 26 of the next year.

The festival would have guests from the country and abroad to experience Delhi, its culture, food & shopping. The event will create thousands of employment opportunities, he said.

Kejriwal also said the Delhi government is in discussions with hotels and airlines to provide special packages to those who want to visit Delhi at the time. "In the upcoming years, we plan to make it the largest shopping event in the globe in addition to being the biggest in India. Delhi will be dressed as a bride, and there will be significant goods discounts "During an online briefing, he remarked.

The festival will have exhibitions on spirituality, wellness, health, and gaming, in addition to other forms of entertainment. "For the guests' entertainment, there will be a spectacular opening and closing ceremony as well as 200 concerts. Due to Delhi's reputation for its cuisine, special food walks will be arranged in which both national and foreign restaurants will participate "He said.
