New Delhi: The body of IB officer Ankit Sharma was found in a rivulet in the riotous Chand Bagh area of North East Delhi. He lived in this area. Meanwhile, on Monday (March 02), Delhi CM and AAP President Arvind Kejriwal announced an amount of Rs 1 crore to the family of Ankit Sharma.

According to the report of the news agency ANI, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has said that we are announcing a compensation of 1 crore rupees for the family of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma and a member of his family was given job by Delhi government. 26-year-old Ankit Sharma was missing earlier and his body was recovered from the drain on 27 February. Sharma's body was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for an internal examination. His mother had said that his selection was for the Delhi Police, but he did not go to the police.

Ankit's brother Ankur had alleged that some women of his colony had informed him in the morning that they had seen people throwing his brother in the drain. Ankur claimed that when people saw the women, they threatened the women that if she told anyone about it, the result would be bad. He was stabbed several times before he was thrown into the drain. Ankit lived with his parents, a brother and a sister.
