Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the national leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has shed approximately 4.5 kilograms since his arrest in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case, said the Minister Atishi.

Despite battling severe diabetes, Kejriwal has been tirelessly working round the clock for the betterment of the country. Atishi expressed concern over Kejriwal's deteriorating health, attributing the weight loss to the stress of incarceration. She accused the BJP of jeopardizing his health by imprisoning him.

Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 as part of a money laundering investigation related to the scrapped Delhi Excise Policy, has been granted permission to consume home-cooked meals while in Tihar jail. Reports indicate that his blood sugar levels have been fluctuating, requiring constant monitoring by jail medical staff.

The ED has labeled Kejriwal as the "kingpin" and "key conspirator" of the alleged excise scam, asserting that there are grounds to suspect his involvement in money laundering. The agency accused him of colluding with Delhi government ministers, AAP leaders, and others in formulating the Excise Policy 2021-22 to benefit certain groups.

Despite Kejriwal's plea for bail and his argument that a political party cannot be implicated in money laundering, the Delhi High Court has refused to grant him interim relief. The court has deemed the issues raised in the case as significant and has instructed the ED to present its response.

Kejriwal's health condition remains a point of concern, with supporters and party members urging for his well-being amidst the legal battle.
