Kerala Ministers take part in Int'l Yoga Day celebrations

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On Tuesday, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, and State Health Minister Veena George led from the front as the state commemorated International Yoga Day in various locations.

At Kerala Raj Bhavan, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan launched the state-level celebrations organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Kerala Zone. The governor, his entire team, and members of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, including students, were all present.

Minister Muraleedharan took part in the event at the world's richest temple, Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple, while Health Minister Veena George was among the students in the state capital city practising Yoga under the supervision of State Police Chief Anil Kant.

The message of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was read to the audience.

Notably, the theme for this year's IDY 2022 is "Yoga for Humanity," which depicts how yoga helped humanity during the Covid-19 pandemic by alleviating suffering and, in the emerging post-Covid geopolitical scenario, by bringing people together through compassion, kindness, and building resilience among people all over the world.
