Khandwa: A case of conversion and pressure to marry a Hindu girl from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh has come to light. The accused Salman Khan also used to send obscene messages on the girl's mobile. According to the report, he had also threatened to kill the girl's entire family if she did not marry him. Police have arrested Salman after receiving the complaint. Action has been taken against him under the Religious Freedom Ordinance- 2020.
According to the report, the case is of the Piplod area of Khandwa district. He had been harassing the young woman from the village Pipliya Kala for a long time. One day when she went to join SN college in the city, Salman Khan (22), son of Singot resident Salim Khan, stopped her at the gate. The accused molested the victim and threatened to kill her and her family if she did not convert and marry him. Fed up with the torture, the young woman told her family the whole story. She then went to Kotwali town with family members and lodged a complaint. In her statement to the police, the victim said that Salman has been harassing her for several days and used to send obscene messages on mobile. The victim said, "He is repeatedly pressurizing me to convert to Muslim and get married.''
The victim said that on Thursday (August 26, 2021), when I came to SN college for online admission, she molested me outside the gate. The victim has appealed to the police to provide security to her and her family. However, a case has been registered under Section 354D (stalking), 354 (assault of a woman with intent to defile her), 354A (sexual harassment), 506 (intimidation), and Religious Freedom Ordinance, 2020 of the IPC.
