The 2022 Khelo India Youth Games is scheduled to be happen from  January 30th to February 11th hosted by Madhya Pradesh around 8 locations in the state as per the announcement made by the Union Minister fo Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur. During this tremendous event CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also going to be presente their and contribute his appreance in the 5th edition of Khelo India Youth Games.  

Khelo India initative has been started in year 2016 and from then on its has been a success in achieving the vision. This program is held during January every year. This year it will be featuring 27 sports disciplines including water sports for the first time. The first edition of this incentive has started in the year 2018 in Delhi following the second edition in Pune 2019, third edition in Guwahati 2020, fourth edition in Haryana.     

This event was the vision of hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi to supoort the interest of youth towards the sports and provide a support and recoginisation to the indigenous sports in the same way as of the olympics sports. To move the youth towards health and fitness, and make them understand the value of fitness. Sports also helps in developing team spirit, strategic and analytical thinking, risk taking, leadership skills. 

The ministry of sports has decided to open 143 centres of Khelo india Youth Games and for this government is investing the amount of Rs 14.30 cr. The centres will be opening in Maharashtra, Mizoram, Goa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.

A total of 24 sports are to be organised in event which are- athletics, archery, basketball, boxing, badminton, cycling, chess, football, gymnastics, hockey, handball, judo, karate, kho-kho, kabaddi, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, weightlifting, volleyball, wrestling, wushu.

The eligibility for the participation is students under 17 for Under-17 and youth under 21 for Under-21. For apllication participants will be needed to provide aadhar card, passport size photo, passbook details, birth certificate, identity certificate. 

During the announcement Minister Anurag Thakur praises Madhya Pradesh for its attempt to come forward and show support by declaring Mallakhamb their state sport. He even praises Madhya Pradesh for showing interest of development in every sector and improving its sports infrastructure, and working on improving shooting and water sports infrastructures. 

There are going to be more than 8500 athletes and sportspersons particiapting and showcasing their talent. And to achieve the vision Khelo India competition has been divided into 12 verticles- State level Khelo India centres, Annual sports competition, Talent search and development, Utlization and creation/upgradation of sports, Support to National/regional/state sports academics, Physical fitness of school children, Sports for women, Promotion of sports amongst people with disabilities, Sports for peace and development, Promotion of rural and indigenous/tribal games.
