According to the recently seen report, the automobile industry is facing sluggishness these days, but its impact on the Seltos SUV is not visible. The booking of this SUV launched in India on August 22 has crossed 50 thousand units. Its booking started in July. The Celtos is the first car in South Korea by Kia Motors in India. Its starting price is Rs 9.69 lakh. Kia Seltos competes in the market with SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector and Tata Harrier. Kia Motors reported that about half of the 50 thousand bookings are for 1.5-liter diesel engine models, 30% 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine models and The rest is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine. The 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engine models have 50-50% demand for variants with manual and automatic gearboxes. At the same time, in the model with 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine, most people are preferring the dual-clutch automatic transmission variant. The company has said that the demand for the top variant of Celtos is high.

It is to be noted that Kia Motors has sold 6,236 in August and 7,754 Celtos in September. The waiting period on Celtos currently ranges from one and a half to two months depending on the variant. Given the high demand, the company is increasing its production. Kia has said that it is about to start the second shift soon. The Seltos is available in 3 engine options, including two petrol and one diesel engine. There is a 1.5-liter petrol engine that generates 113hp of power and 144Nm of torque. It has 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox options. The other is a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 138hp power and 242Nm torque. It has 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission options. The third is a 1.5-liter diesel engine, which generates 113hp power and 250Nm torque. It has 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.
