Abu Dhabi: Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) captain Lokesh Rahul is performing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the third consecutive year. Rahul, the orange cap holder of IPL 2020, scored an innings of 46 runs in the match played against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday. A record was added to his name. Rahul played an innings of 46 runs off 41 balls against Rajasthan in Abu Dhabi. He hit three fours and two sixes in his innings and also shared a 120-run partnership with Chris Gayle.

IPL 2020 crossed the 600-run mark after scoring five runs in the match played against Rajasthan. He is on top by scoring 641 runs in 13 matches this season. He has scored one century and five half-centuries. He became the second Indian batsman to complete 600 runs in the IPL season twice. Earlier, Virat Kohli, captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore has done this feat. He scored 634 runs in IPL 2013, while in 2016 he scored a total of 973 runs.

Rahul also completed 2000 runs in IPL as a wicketkeeper in yesterday's match. He has scored 1893 runs in 41 matches so far after joining Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018. This wicket-keeper batsman has scored two centuries and 17 half-centuries during this period. This batsman scored 659 runs in IPL 2018 and 593 runs in IPL 2019.
