Srinagar: There has been a big accident in Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir. Here a car filled with travellers returning to Machail Mata has fallen into Chenab river. There are reports of 11 passengers killed in this accident. DGP SP Vaidya of Jammu and Kashmir Police informed that only one child of five years is alive child. She has been admitted to the hospital in the incident. The accident happened 28 kilometres away from Kishtwar when it was heading towards the padder. Earlier on Monday, a mini bus and a car had landed in the gurdwara in Kishtwar. In this accident, seven people were killed and 12 people were injured.

Officials said that when the two vehicles coming in the grip of a heavy landslide on the Kishtwar highway, this incident happened. DGP Shesh Paul Vaid tweeted and informed about the incident.  The journey of 43 days of was started on 25th July and so far more than 1.50 lakh pilgrims had performed puja in the temple of Goddess Durga Mata.

Meanwhile, MLA said that on the road of 100 meters, a large rock was rolled down on the vehicle. He said that they have raised the issue of security from the landslide of this part by authorities several times. He said that he would appeal to Governor NN Vohra to take immediate action in this direction.
