For violating the Indian Premier League's (IPL) Code of Conduct during Royal Challengers Bangalore's recent match against Chennai Super Kings, Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli has been fined 10% of his match money. Kohli, who only made six runs, was adjudged to have violated Article 2.2 of the code.

Although specifics of the incident are unknown, it is believed that Kohli's response to CSK's Shivam Dube's firing may have been what led to the breach. Dube had a brilliant game, scoring 52 runs off only 27 balls as CSK put up a staggering total of 226/6 that was too much for RCB to overcome.

In a statement from the IPL, which also disclosed that the batsman had admitted to the Level 1 offence allegation, Kohli's sentence was confirmed. A match referee's judgement on a Level 1 violation is final and binding under the IPL's disciplinary rules.

An ugly brawl between interim KKR captain Nitish Rana and MI bowler Hrithik Shokeen ruined the IPL match between the former champion Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium. Following the game, both players received warnings for violating the IPL's Code of Conduct.

Anushka Sharma, a Bollywood star, was present at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru with Kohli. While sat with RCB executives, Sharma was captured on camera enjoying the support for CSK captain MS Dhoni and said, "They love him."

Despite the setback, RCB's campaign continues, and on April 20, they will play Punjab Kings in Mohali. The group will try to recover from its loss to CSK and keep up its pursuit of a playoff position.

RCB, who has dropped three of their five games thus far, is ranked seven, just below KKR, with a net run rate of -0.318.
