Fake vaccination case: Kolkata Police notice to Serum Institute, records Mimi Chakraborty's statement

Kolkata: Kolkata Police has filed an affidavit in the High Court in the fake vaccine case in West Bengal. Kolkata Police has informed the court that actress and MP Mimi Chakraborty, actress Lovely Moitra and MP Dr Shantanu Sen were also questioned and statements of the them were recorded under Section 161 of the CRPC.

In an affidavit filed in the Calcutta High Court, Kolkata Police informed that a notice has also been sent to serum institute under Section 160 of the CRPC regarding the ongoing investigation into the fake vaccine case. The affidavit states that a notice has been issued to the General Manager of Serum Institute of India Limited (SII), the real manufacturer of the covishield vaccine in India, and the company is awaiting for its response.

Kolkata Police on June 26 arrested three more accused in the case of fake IAS officer in West Bengal and setting up a fake corona vaccination camp. The accused in the case, Debanjan Deb, was arrested by kolkata police a few days ago. During investigation, it was found that Debanjan had carried out the fake vaccination drive by calling himself an officer IAS.
