Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Jan. 5 (NT): chief of Shiv Pratishthan Hindustan and the leading accused in the Koregaon- Bhima- violence, Sambhaji Bhide, on Friday claimed Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh chief Dr Prakash Ambedkar of conspire in opposition to him.

Bhide also asked for the Centre for a meticulous investigation into the allegations leveled by Ambedkar.

"Prakash Ambedkar blamed me for the conspiracy which is completely wrong. I demand the government to investigate the matter thoroughly and to give strong punishment to the one found guilty", stated Bhide as quoted by ANI.

This development comes after Ambedkar claimed that Hindu Ekta Aghadi and Shivraj Pratishthan were accountable for provoking violence against the Dalit community, in which a youth was taken life.

This unpleasant incident has provoked the Dalit community to smack the streets in Maharashtra and several other parts of states.

The fight of Koregaon was fought on January 1, 1818, between the British East India Company and the Peshwa group of the Maratha association, at Koregaon Bhima.

The Marathas eventually pull out, due to the terror of the arrival of a larger British force.

The Company troops of Indian origin incorporated mostly Mahar Dalit soldiers fit into the Bombay Native Infantry, and therefore the Dalit activists consider the battle as an epic chapter in their history. (NT)
