The construction and demolition waste management plant in Hyderabad at The Jeedimetla in the city was inaugurated by Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MIUD) Minister K T Rama Rao on Saturday. 500 TPD capacity plant is being constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore. This plant separates waste sand, gravel and bricks and recycles them separately. It is designed to recycle 50 tons of waste per hour. Construction and demolition can be sold at Rs. 342 per tonne.

The plant was set up by GHMC in the 6th phase of the Jeedimetla industrial area and Ramki Enviro is spread over 15 acres. So far, 13,14,791.11 Metric Tonnes of waste has been transferred to the unit from Sachivayalam, Kotwalguda, Fatullahguda, Jeedimetla and Jawaharnagar. All the debris related to buildings, demolition and road repair work are being sent to the plant. Minister KT Rama Rao took to Twitter to take to Twitter that the plant was developed in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode to create plates/ bricks, road metal, coarse sand to recycle waste and reuse pavements.
