New Delhi: Political rhetoric on rising pollution in the River Yamuna continues in the country's capital Delhi. Meanwhile, poet Kumar Biswas has slammed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal while sharing a six-year-old video. He has also taken a dig at Kejriwal over the preparations for the Punjab elections along with pollution.

In his tweet, Kumar Biswas wrote and targeted AAP President and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and said yes, this time the responsibility of air pollution will be on the farmers of Haryana, not the Punjabites because there are elections in a few months. In the earlier video shared by Kumar, CM Arvind Kejriwal had promised that there is a lot of pollution in the Yamuna. We will clean it up completely. Describing this work as his priority, Kejriwal had said that ''A lot of sewer falls in the Yamuna and industrial waste of Delhi also befalls. We have all identified him and made a complete plan. I can say with full confidence that in the next five years I will get the Yamuna cleaned. I will get you all bathed in the Yamuna, I will also take a dip in the Yamuna with you, I will make it so clean.''

Meanwhile, a series of allegations have started in the ruling AAP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi after pictures and videos of devotees worshipping amidst poisonous foam in the Yamuna on the occasion of Chhath Puja surfaced on Monday. In Chhath Puja, thousands of women stand in the middle of the water in the river and offer Arghya to the Surya Dev. In the meantime, they are forced to stand in the dirt for a long time with the foam from the sewage.
