Leh: In the midst of the Indo-China border dispute, the counselor of Ladakh's Janskar has made a serious charge against the Congress. He said that between 2004 and 2014, Congress did not allow the construction of the Leh-Manali road. The project was approved by the Vajpayee government. According to Zee News report, Janskar said, 'The construction of the road related to national security was delayed under the UPA regime. From 2004 to 2014, no work was done on any important road.

He said that 'Congress showed negligence in the construction of Leh-Manali road. In the year 2007, the Leh-Manali road was to be completed. The government of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave the green signal to the Leh-Manali road project. It is noteworthy that in the Modi government, India has become stronger on the border than the Congress-led UPA government. In the UPA government from 2008 to 2014, 1 tunnel was built near the border, 7,270 meters long bridges were built and 3,610 km of roads were constructed, while in the Modi government, 6 tunnels have been built from 2014 to 2020 and about 19 tunnels are built. Is planned With this, 14,450 meter long bridges have been built and 4,764 km of roads have been completed in the last 6 years in the Modi government.

Let us tell you that under the UPA regime, less money was also given in the budget for the construction of infrastructure. After the year 2016, the Modi government accelerated the construction of infrastructure and also increased the budget. Between 2008 and 2016, Rs 3,300 to 4,600 crore was allocated for infrastructure. While after the year 2016, Rs 5,450 crore has been allocated in the budget of 2017-2018 for infrastructure.
