New Delhi: Veteran BJP leader and former Union Minister Jaswant Singh passed away today at the age of 82. Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has condoled his demise. Advani said he did not have words to express his condolences. He said Jaswant Singh was not only his closest ally in the party but also had a deep friendship between the two.

Advani added, "Jaswant Ji was a brilliant parliamentarian, an efficient diplomat, a great manager and above all a patriot. Jaswant Ji, who comes from Rajasthan, was the highest in the BJP and for years he contributed significantly to the party. While in the Vajpayee government, he fulfilled three important responsibilities such as the Ministry of Defence, External Affairs and Finance. In the six years of handling these issues, Atal Ji, Jaswantji and I had a special relationship."

At the same time, Advani said, "Like me, Jaswant Ji was a great lover of books and we shared notes of shared interest many times. I remember them and our family relationships.
