Ranchi: Public outcry over the death of suspended inspector Lalji Yadav of Nawabazar police station in Palamu district under suspicious circumstances is not stopping. Thousands of people took to the streets in Sahibganj city on Thursday demanding justice for Lalji Yadav ahead of his funeral. He was cremated at around 1 pm amid grief and anger. Earlier, in Palamu too, the highway was blocked for nearly 16 hours by angry people on Tuesday.

Let me tell you that the body of suspended inspector Lalji Yadav was found hanging in the police quarters on Tuesday. Police officials are calling it a case of suicide while the family members have accused of conspiracy to murder. In an application to the DIG, Palamu, the brother of the deceased police officer has held SP Chandan Kumar Sinha, SDPO, Vishrampur Surjit Kumar and DTO Anwar Hussain responsible for his death.

However, SP Chandan Kumar Sinha has categorically denied the allegations made by the family members of the suspended police officer. He said he was suspended due to indiscipline. This is a normal punishment in the police department. They have nothing to do with this matter of suicide. Everything will be clear in the investigation. Lalji Yadav hailed from Sahibganj. Even before his body arrived here on Thursday morning, locals had blocked the city's literacy square with bamboo bats. The same Jharkhand government's Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur has also demanded a high-level investigation into the death of the inspector.
