According to researchers they have found an ancient molecule called GK-PID that is the reason of division of cells. Around approximately 800 million years ago this molecule made it possible for the division of cell. This cell works like a cell carbiner that holds the chromosomes together and stick it to the walls of cell because of which they get copied properly. This also prevents the formation of cancerous cell.

Another fascinating thing about is that this molecular did not behave in the same way as it behaves now. It was because of the small mutation in the cell because of which it can copy the cells and allows the formation of multicellular organism.
