The travel passes which will be given to the officers in charge of the liquor manufacturing units and the godowns, vehicles and the persons belonging to the unit will be validated. The permit issued by the District Excise Officer will also be valid as a travel pass.

In fact, the Commercial Tax Department has instructed the collectors that if there is any inconvenience to the contractors in the operation of the contract, then such problem should be resolved immediately on the phone with priority. Liquor is a major source of income of the government in Madhya Pradesh. Due to the lockdown, liquor shops have been closed for about a month. This has caused a loss of revenue of about one thousand 800 crores to the government.

The economy has been badly affected due to the Corona crisis. The government does not want the contractors to have any problem in operating liquor shops, on the basis of which they can keep the business closed. In fact, when the government had given instructions to open liquor shops in the districts of Green and Orange zones, the contractors had refused to open the shops on the basis of operational difficulty and economic losses and also filed a petition in the High Court.
