India's promising youngster Shaili Singh also won a bronze medal in the women's long jump event by finishing third with a best effort of 6.65m at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix here on Sunday. Nineteen-year-old Shaili cleared a distance of 6.65m in her opening attempt at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold level event, which has proved to be her best effort.Â
It is, however, 11 cm short of her personal best. She was leading by the third round. Maris Lujollo of Germany won the gold medal with a jump of 6.79 metres. Australia's Brooke Bushquel finished second with an effort of 6.77m. It is the first major international outdoor competition for the genre at the senior level.
