MP: Leader of opposition raises questions over monsoon session in assembly

Bhopal: The 19-day monsoon session of the 15th Assembly of the state begins on July 8, which will last till July 26. It is believed to be the smallest budget session ever. It has been questioned by the leader of opposition Gopal Bhargava.

As per the information received from sources, leader of opposition Bhargava has written to Chief Minister Kamal Nath demanding extension of the monsoon session of the State Assembly. At the same time, he wrote, "I would like to apprise you that the budget sessions of the pre-concluded assembly have been kept at least 5 weeks. The budget session in the Assembly is the only session where people-friendly issues of the state are discussed in a comprehensive way. In the meantime, both the ruling party and the opposition work to count the loopholes of the government.

According to the information, Gopal Bhargava has given the chief Minister an example of the Assembly sessions in the past years. The budget session of the Assembly is being held at least five weeks. He has said that there will be only 15 sittings in the summon budget session from 8th to 26th July. It also goes in homage on the first day. In a total of 14 meetings, members will discuss the budgets of different departments or raise public issues.
