Bhopal: The results of bye-elections to 28 Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh are being released today. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP candidate Tulsi Cilavat's victory has almost been finalised after the 18th round of counting of votes in the Sanver assembly constituency of Indore District. Cilavat is running ahead of his close rival Premchand Guddu of congress by about 35,000 votes. He is running ahead of the record 34922 votes. This is a record difference in this assembly constituency.

In the year 2003, the biggest victory of Sanver was recorded by Prakash Sontax, who won the election by a margin of 19500 votes. Tulsiram Cilavat has received 88763 votes after the 18th round, while Premchand Guddu has received 53841 votes. 1261 voters have pressed the Nota button. However, the daughters of Premchand Guddu, who was contesting on the Congress ticket, made a ruckus at the counting site accusing the administration of tampering with electronic voting machines (EVM) and boycotted the vote counting.

The counting of votes had to be stopped for some time. Thereafter, counting was resumed. Let us say that the BJP has won 15 seats in Madhya Pradesh and has an edge over 4 seats.  The main rival Congress has won only six seats. Politically knowledgeable it is a major victory for Shivraj and Rajya Sabha member Jyotiraditya Scindia from BJP. Because it was a question of credibility for Scindia to prove himself in this election after the Kamal Nath government was demolished.
