Protest of BJP rebel leaders entry in Congress, demand intervention from high command

Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, two rebel MLAs who rebelled against the BJP and favoured the Congress government are now facing opposition in the Congress. On Wednesday, BJP MLA Narayan Tripathi and MLA Sharad Kaul from Beauhari supported the Congress during the division of the Criminal Law Amendment Bill. There were speculations that the two MLAs could join the Congress.

According to news agency PTI, now several Congress leaders and MLAs have started opposing their efforts to take the two leaders to the party. Congress leaders have termed these MLAs as "habitual defectors". Congress leader Srikant Chaturvedi said, "This is the eighth time that Narayan Tripathi is changing the party, now he has been exposed, just two days before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he left the Congress and took the BJP's seat."

In the 2018 assembly elections, Narayan Tripathi defeated Srikanth Chaturvedi from the Maihar assembly seat. Shrikant Chaturvedi held press talks with his supporters, local Congress leaders at the Maihar in Satna. Shrikant Chaturvedi said that the High Command should discuss with the local Congress leaders and take them into confidence before inducting them into the Congress.
