Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday announced on his birthday that from April this year, the Dearness Allowance (DA) to the state's government employees will be given at the same rate as the Centre. At present, the government employees of the state are getting 20 per cent DA. Yes, and now this announcement has brought happiness to the government employees. With this announcement of the Chief Minister, the DA of about seven lakh employees of the state will increase by 11 percent.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "Due to Covid, the DA of government employees which we used to increase immediately earlier could not increase in the Corona period. But now the DA of government employees will be increased to 31 per cent and it will start paying from April.'' Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said this while addressing a function on his birthday at Shri Barh Wale Ganesh Temple at Vidisha district headquarters.
In the budget last month, the Congress government in Rajasthan announced the restoration of the old pension scheme for its employees appointed on and after January 1, 2004. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Jaivardhan Singh wrote to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan last week, demanding the restoration of the old pension scheme for the state government employees on the lines of Rajasthan.
