In a significant move, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has invalidated the registrations of a staggering 13,785 real estate agents. This action comes as a consequence of their failure to renew licenses obtained back in 2017.

According to a release by the regulator, these agents must undergo prescribed training and obtain certification anew if they intend to resume their roles as property brokers. The list of these nearly 14,000 delisted agents has been made public on the regulator's website.

Mumbai city and its suburbs top the charts with the highest number of delisted agents, totaling 6,291, followed by Thane at 3,075 and Pune at 2,349.

While new agents have indeed signed up and registered with MahaRERA, the overall count has witnessed a decline due to non-renewal of licenses.

Recently, the regulator conducted its fourth round of examinations for real estate agents. Out of 1,767 candidates who appeared for the test, 1,527 successfully cleared it.
