Mahakumbh 2025: The Indian Railways is making the ticket booking process for Mahakumbh 2025 more efficient by introducing QR code-enabled jackets for railway employees. This innovative initiative, launched in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, aims to provide millions of devotees with a smooth travel experience during the grand religious event in Prayagraj.

For the first time, the Prayagraj Railway Division will roll out a digital ticketing system that allows devotees to book tickets by scanning QR codes printed on the jackets of railway employees. This will help devotees avoid the long queues traditionally associated with ticket purchases, making the journey more convenient and efficient.

Amit Malviya, Senior PRO of the Prayagraj Railway Division, explained that employees from the commercial department would be assigned special duties at Prayagraj Junction. These staff members will wear distinctive green jackets featuring QR codes on the back. Devotees can simply scan the codes with their smartphones to directly access the UTS mobile app, where they can book unreserved tickets without the need to wait in line.

This new initiative is part of the broader effort to make Mahakumbh 2025 a "Digital Mahakumbh," aligning with the Uttar Pradesh government's vision of incorporating digital solutions into the event. In addition to the QR code jackets, Indian Railways has introduced a toll-free helpline, a dedicated website, and the Mahakumbh Mela App to further streamline services for visitors.

The QR code system not only facilitates ticket booking but also reduces the logistical challenges that typically arise during such a large-scale event. By simplifying the process and encouraging digital payments, the initiative ensures that devotees can obtain their tickets with ease, contributing to a hassle-free experience.

Railway personnel wearing the QR code jackets will be stationed at key locations throughout the railway premises, offering assistance to devotees and providing access to other essential services. This forward-thinking move by the North Central Railway represents a significant step toward India's Digital India mission and promises to offer a seamless travel experience for the millions of attendees expected at Mahakumbh 2025.
