Patna: At the age of 61, Mahant Kanhaiyadas Ramayani, an influential figure in the Rammandir movement known for his energising songs, died. They had been battling lung issues for quite some time. He died on Friday while receiving treatment at Patna's Mahavir Cancer Hospital. Ramnagari's VHP functionaries, including saints and religious leaders, have expressed their condolences on his passing.

After returning from the Haridwar Sant Sammelan this year, Mahant Kanhaiyadas Ramayani, chairman of Sant Samiti Ayodhya and member of the VHP's Central Board of Directors, who played a key role in the same Rammandir campaign, was infected with corona. He was being treated at Patna's Mahavir Hospital. He was one of the VHP's most forceful speakers. Through his talks in the temple movement, he was noted for creating excitement among the youth. He was dubbed the VHP's "firebrand" leader.

Sadhgurudev made a significant contribution to the 1992 movements, according to his successor, Shishya Santosh Das, and held steady with the Sangh, the VHP, even in the face of hardship. Religious and social programmes piqued his interest. He stated he will be cremated on Saturday on Ayodhya's Saryu shoreline.
