Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has received death threats. This threat is given through a letter in his name. Police have started investigating after registering a case in the case. PRO of Mumbai Police, Pranay Ashok said that the Chief Minister's Secretariat had received a threatening letter on 15 October. Pranay Ashok said that on October 15, a case was registered at the Marine Drive Police Station, in which a letter was received to the Chief Minister's Secretariat in which a man threatened to kill the CM.

Police said the accused hails from Nanded in Maharashtra and further investigation is on in the case. Voting is going on for the assembly elections in Maharashtra today. Votes will be counted on 24 October. There are 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. This time also the main contest is between BJP-Shiv Sena alliance and Congress-NCP.

After the alliance with Shiv Sena, where BJP is contesting 150 seats in the state, Shiv Sena has fielded candidates for 124 seats. The pre-poll survey may show a bumper victory of the BJP alliance, but regional issues are expected to dominate the Maharashtra elections. Issues such as the drought and the PMC bank scandal can completely change the picture on many seats.
