Mumbai: Voting for the assembly elections in Maharashtra is going on today. In this election, brother and sister are face to face in one seat. Maharashtra minister Pankaja Munde and her cousin NCP leader Dhananjay Munde are pitted against each other in the Parli seat. A case has been registered against NCP leader Dhananjay Munde for allegedly making objectionable remarks against his cousin Pankaja Munde at an election rally.

A Maharashtra Police official said that the video of NCP leader's comments against Minister Pankaja Munde was going viral on social media. After this, a BJP leader hailing from Parli in Beed district filed a police complaint on Saturday. Dhananjay Munde claimed that the video that went viral has been tampered with and is fake.

His statement has been twisted and presented. Pankaja Munde is the daughter of sitting BJP MLA from Parli and late party leader Gopinath Munde. On the complaint of BJP President Jugal Kishore Lohia late Saturday night against Dhananjay Munde on sections 500 (defamation) of IPC, 509 (use of words, gestures to offend a woman's dignity) and 294 (indecent act in public place) An FIR was filed. Lohia alleged that Dhananjay made obscene remarks against Pankaja during a public meeting on 17 October at Vida village in Kaij tehsil. The BJP has also complained about this to the Election Commission and the Women's Commission.
