Mumbai: Voting is going on for the assembly elections in Maharashtra. Voting is being held for 288 assembly seats in the state. So far, CM Devendra Fadnavis, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Smriti Irani and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray along with their families cast their votes. During this time many film personalities also reached the polling stations and cast their votes and appealed to the people to cast their votes. The main contest is between the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance (NDA) and the Congress-NCP alliance in Maharashtra. Talking about BJP alliance, BJP is contesting 150 seats, while Shiv Sena is contesting 124 seats.
If we talk about the Congress, then it has fielded candidates for 147 seats, while NCP is contesting 121 seats. Talking about Maharashtra Assembly seat, a total of 3237 candidates are trying their luck in the electoral fray for 288 seats, including 235 women candidates. There are a total of 9 crore voters in the state, who will decide their fate. There are more than four and a quarter crore women voters in the state. Polling in the state continues from 7 am to end at 6 pm. In Mumbai today, Union Minister Smriti Irani reached a polling booth and cast her vote. During this time people also took pictures with him.

Shiv Sena candidate Aditya Thackeray reached a polling station in Bandra (East), Mumbai to cast his vote along with his entire family. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray arrived here with wife Rashmi and sons Aditya and Tejas. Aditya Thackeray is contesting from the Worli seat on a Shiv Sena ticket. He is the only member of the Thackeray family to do so.
