Mumbai: Nitesh Rane, son of senior Maharashtra leader Narayan Rane, has taken membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Sindhudurg today. Nitesh filled up the party's membership form at the BJP office in Kankavali in the presence of the BJP district president. BJP has fielded Nitesh Rane as its candidate from Kanakavali assembly seat.

Earlier on the night of Tuesday (October 01), Narayan Rane met CM Devendra Fadnavis of Maharashtra. After this, Nitesh, without joining BJP, was given an AB form to be given to the party's authorized candidate. At the same time, Shiv Sena is opposing the candidature given by the BJP to the Rane family. Shiv Sena had announced that, if Nitesh makes Rane a BJP candidate, then the Shiv Sena will field its own candidate from that seat.

Nitesh Rane, son of former Maharashtra CM Narayan Rane has resigned from the post of Congress MLA. Narayan Rane has submitted his resignation to the Speaker of the Assembly on Tuesday (October 01). MLA Nitesh Narayan Rane from Kankavali also runs an organization named 'Swabhimaan Sangathan'. In Maharashtra, all the assembly seats will be voted on October 21 and the results will be declared on October 24.
