Mumbai: The Maharashtra government today called for a state-wide bandh to protest against the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. However, violence is raging there between all of them. Let me tell you that the ruling alliance of NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) issued a statement last Saturday. In it, he said, "A bandh has been called to show that the state is with the farmers of the country.'' Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, on the other hand, said, "His party will participate in a bandh in Maharashtra on October 11 to protest against the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh.''

Let me tell you all that the eight best buses have been damaged in different parts of the city since late tonight. Shiv Sainiks forcibly shut down shops at several places in Mumbai. On the other hand, Nawab Malik, a minister and NCP leader in the Uddhav Thackeray-led government, said, "We appeal to the people that they should come together. We should keep our work closed for a day. Shopkeepers should keep shops closed on their own. Activists from all three parties will request shops, establishments and people to show support for farmers.''

Let me tell you that hundreds of police personnel have been deployed at Dadar Circle over the bandh called by the Maharashtra Government. Traffic is also being affected by the bandh. People are facing a lot of trouble here today.
