Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has announced further relaxation of lockdown restrictions imposed in the state during the second wave of COVID-19. What is allowed: The Maharashtra government has decided to restart the local train at 50% capacity from August 15. In such a case, travel by local train is allowed for all frontline health workers, essential service personnel, and persons taking both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days ago. At the same time, restaurants are allowed to reopen with 50% seating capacity. In addition, all shops have been allowed to open with 50% capacity. Shopping malls are allowed to remain open till 10 pm with fully vaccinated employees. At the same time, gymnasiums, yoga centers, salons, beauty parlors, and spas have been allowed to reopen with 50% capacity by 10 pm on all days. Indoor sports activities like badminton, table tennis, squash, parallel bar, are allowed with two players per game.
What is not allowed: Cinema halls, theatres, and multiplexes will remain closed. All places of worship will remain closed. The ban on big celebrations such as birthday celebrations, political, social, religious, and cultural events, elections, publicity, rallies, protest marches will continue.
