Amid the deteriorating COVID-19 situation in the state, the Maha Vikas Aghadi government is expected to announce a complete lockdown in the state. In view of the Tier 2 of novel coronavirus the state has been hit worst and daily cases are making highest level of records in which regard led Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray from Wednesday can order lockdown to ‘’break the chain of coronavirus infections.’’

According to the sources, the MVA government may announce a two-week lockdown in the state in a serious bid to curb the rising COVID-19 cases. Many ministers were agreed to go for a complete lockdown decision in the state. The health Minister, Rajesh Tope said “CM Thackeray will make the announcement in this regard at 8 pm tonight, Wednesday.” Meanwhile, Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal also confirmed the decision of lockdown on Wednesday. “We may have to impose restrictions on the local train movement in Mumbai too,” Bhujbal further added. In the same view, Minister Aslam Sheikh said the guidelines regarding the complete lockdown will be announced soon. Now, according to information received, the state government may announce curbs on inter and intra-district vehicular movement during the lockdown. However, railways and airline services will continue.

While, the vaccination and all health emergency services will be free from the strict lockdown. Amid all this chaos, School Education Minister has announced postponement of the upcoming state SSC Board exams for 2021.
