Mumbai: Petrol and diesel have become cheaper in Maharashtra. In this, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs.5 and diesel by Rs.3, which will benefit the common people. The decision has been taken by the Maharashtra Cabinet. The new Government of Maharashtra has taken another big decision. It has been said that due to the Emergency imposed in 1975, those who were lodged in jail, such people will be given a pension in the state. There are 3,600 such people present in Maharashtra. The deputy chief minister's father had also been in jail at that time for two years and two months.

If you talk about petrol and diesel, then the Eknath Shinde government had already hinted at reducing the price. It has now been sealed in the Cabinet meeting. At present, the price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 111.35 a litre. It will now be Rs 106.35. Similarly, diesel is currently priced at Rs 97.28 a litre in Mumbai. It will now cost Rs 94.28 a litre.

The central government cut the prices of petrol and diesel about 1.5 months ago. The Centre had reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 and Rs 6 respectively. Subsequently, the Government of Maharashtra had also decided to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel in the State. The Maharashtra government had then reduced VAT on petrol and diesel by Rs 2.08 and Rs 1.44 per litre respectively. Now again, people have been given a big relief.
